Calling a city home is a task that does not always come easy. Often, people do not slow down to enjoy the beauty and opportunities that the area they live in offers. When choosing an area to live in safety and security is a priority for most people, especially those raising a family. Cypress, Texas is a diverse area located just outside the Houston city limits. Until the 1800’s, Cypress, Texas was mostly rural, but the area is now developing rapidly and has become an affluent suburban area. Even with such growth, Cypress still maintains its small town values and cultures. If you would like to enjoy the comfort and security of the suburbs while still being close to the excitement of the big city, then Cypress, Texas is the place for you.

Cypress, Texas is the perfect place to raise a family. The area not only has great educational opportunities, but has many extracurricular activities for children as well. Cypress is served by the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District which is one of the largest and best school districts in the state of Texas. Many of the schools in the district have been recognized by the state for their academic excellence. Another good opportunity for kids growing up in Cypress is the extracurricular activities. Cy Fair Sports Association is an area organization that allows children to play various sports such as softball, baseball, football, and many more. There is also a multitude of dance academies, and one that is very well known is Cypress Academy of gymnastics & performing arts. If your children enjoy volleyball they will be excited to know that Cypress is home to the Texas tornadoes. If outdoor activities interest you, there are a few public parks in the area such as Bear Creek Park that provide an area for the family to picnic, play recreational activities, and feed the ducks. While you are there you can also catch a glimpse of some exotic livestock and birds. Many of the master planned communities in the area offer fun and interactive facilities for children such as swimming pools, splash pads, and parks with slides, swings, and sand boxes. The area includes a handful of health & tennis clubs for the health conscious and those interested in playing tennis. When it comes to child care, Cypress offers many different and well known child/day care facilities such as Kids R Kids, Montessori, and many more.

The Cypress, Texas area also has many attractions for the young and old. Cypress is the home of Tin Hall which is one of the oldest Dance Halls in Texas. One of the newer additions to the area is The Berry Center, featuring a football stadium, basketball arena, conference center, auditorium, multimedia production, and catering facility. The Berry Center is now used for business as well as entertainment, such as music concerts. For the busy dads or moms that enjoy a relaxing game of golf, Cypress has numerous Golf Courses such as, Longwood Golf Club, Blackhorse, Houston National, Cypress Lakes, Cypress Golf Club, and Hearthstone Country Club. If shopping is your interest you will be happy to know that Cypress is close to many different malls and strip centers that offer a wide variety of shopping such as Pier one, Target, Petsmart, JC Penney, Old Navy, and many more. You name it and it can probably be found nearby. Movie theaters are in abundance in Cypress and there is even a movie theater that serves food and drinks while you enjoy your movie called Studio Movie Grill.
